Severn Valley Operations 2004
 50018's
power unit has been stored at St Leonard Railway Engineering Ltd since
the early 1990's. In 2004 the decision was made to move it to the SVR so
that it can be worked on and parts recovered for further use. Our thanks
to SLREL for the secure storage they provided. In this low winter
sunlight scene the power unit is lifted clear of the lorry to be placed
on a specially prepared base.

 On
the 4th June D444 and 50035 were put on a on test run to prove the former's
fitness to operate over SVR metals and further explore the latter's generator problems. At Bewdley
D444 has finished her test and a path to Kidderminster for 50035's test
is awaited.

the early part of 2004 Network rail had been undertaking tests with an
updated track recording train. D444 hauled the set back to Kidderminster to

The Diesel Gala
 The
Diesel Gala was held over the first weekend of October with a number of
excellent visitors including 50007, 40145, D1023, 37190, 73005 and 73006. In a
line up reminiscent of the WSR gala of a few years back, here are five
fifties in a line.

gala the opportunity had to be taken to run both Green locos together,
and here they are, 50007 leading D444 waiting to depart Bewdley on the
