 Following
repairs to the power plant 50031 was tested prior to return to the Welsh
Valleys.

 To help
out the S&T department on the Severn Valley Railway Hood was
utilised to haul a special freight service on the 29th July 1999. Here
we see 50031 and her very short train at Erdington opposite the Permanent
Way siding.

 Later that
day '31 was used to arrange the recently arrived Coradia diesel multiple
unit. 175101 was on the Severn Valley for testing prior to delivery to
First North Western.
