1992 First Visit to the Severn Valley Railway
In
1992 all The Fifty Fund's locomotives were based at St Leonard's Railway
Engineering. To operate Hood the Fund chose to visit various railways.

The first
class 50 to operate a revenue earning train in preservation came
during the S.V.R.'s Spring Diesel Gala in May. Here she is at
Haybridge during that weekend.

From
1993 on it became increasingly difficult to move preserved locomotives around
the UK as the national railway company (British Rail) was broken up for
privatisation. The Fund having enjoyed the previous year's stay on the Severn
Valley were pleased to be able to agree terms with the Railway to base initially
one, then two, and finally all three locomotives at Kidderminster.
Here in early 1993 '31 stands in an overgrown Yard. Note the black roof
carried for a short period only.
