Service Trains

From May 1998 to January 1999 50031 (and for a very short period 50044 were utilised by Cardiff Railway Co's commuter services between Rhymney and Cardiff Central.

More recently Arriva Trains Wales have hired 50031 and 50049 to provide motive power for additional services at times of peak travel or for special events at the Millennium Stadium.
