The Pompey Vectis Explorer
This tour started in The Tyseley Steam Centre's own
Station (Tyseley Warwick Road) and headed for Nuneaton before turning
south on to the Midland Mainline and south, round London to Havant.
Unfortunately 50049 failed with a fractured metal pipe causing a
major coolant loss at Borehamwood. After three hours 47853 appeared from
Acton and took the train back to Tyseley. This incident was the first
total failure experienced by the C50A locomotives in nearly ten years of
operating on the mainline.
While
things were going well, Defiance approaches Narborough.
