The Pilgrim Hoover

The first preserved class 50 outing on the main line took place on 1st November 1997, which turned out to be an unusually bright day for the time of year. 50031 performed faultlessly taking over from 87101 to take the excursion from Birmingham International to Plymouth and back via the challenging Devon Banks.

After the arrival from Birmingham, Hood is surrounded by well wishers at Bristol Temple Meads.
