The North York Moors Railway "Valley Aid"
The Class 50 Alliance was pleased to be involved with
the North York Moors Railway's event to raise money for The Severn
Valley Railway's flood damage appeal. The event took place over the
weekend of the 2nd-4th November 2007.
The Alliance along with many other locomotive owners
were pleased to wave the usual locomotive hire fees to help further
increase the donation to the SVR.
Local
resident 50027 Lion was partnered with 50049 for one trip only.
Unfortunately Lion suffered a failure that prevented it taking any
further part in the event. Here the pair as seen amongst the autumnal
colours.

With the
NYMR taking on some operations over the Esk Valley line from Barnetby to
Whitby the opportunity to use 50049 on new metals was taken.

At
Whitby. We believe that this is the first visit of the class to the
terminus. But can anyone prove this or provide evidence that this is not
the case?
