Preservation
The choice to preserve a locomotive is an easy one to
take but a difficult one to follow through to completion. With three
locomotives the exercise has become a major operation with teams and
individuals playing coordinated bit parts to produce working locomotives
on a regular basis. The Fund needs volunteers
so we encourage you not to be shy and to contact us whatever your
background, we can always find job or project to involve you in.
This Gallery has been split up by locomotive; Hood,
Ark Royal, and Exeter.
All three locomotives lined up in St. Leonards Railway Engineering Ltd's shed
near Hastings in the Summer of 1992. This was where all the early work was undertaken in comparative
shelter compared to the drafty yard at Kidderminster.
