Joining The Fifty Fund
All shareholders in the Class 50 Alliance Ltd are members of
The Fifty Fund. A share in the Alliance is currently this is the only mechanism
by which it is possible to join The Fifty Fund.
Operating any railway engine requires capital to pay for;
insurance, lubricants, spares, tools, examinations, and essential maintenance. It is also
this organisations stated objective to purchase "Hood". In order to raise the finance for
all these objectives the Class 50 Alliance are selling £25 shares. Shareholders are all part
owners of "Ark Royal", "Exeter" and "Defaince" will hopefully be part owners
of "Hood" in the future.
The Purchase of shares cannot be regarded as a profit making venture, only as a means
of ensuring the continuing preservation of these locomotives for your enjoyment. Shares
are therefore "Certificates of part ownership". Any revenue generated by the
locomotives will be reinvested, and used towards their future maintenance.
Share issues are made annually. Between share issues, receipts are sent to anyone making
an application for shares, from that point in time they are given shareholder status.
All shareholders are invited to attend the Annual General Meeting and other
Extraordinary Meetings, and if appropriate vote on
issues pertaining to its activities. In all shareholder voting procedures each complete
share purchased represents one vote.
Day to day running of The Class 50 Alliance is undertaken by the board of
directors supported by a team of appointed advisors. The members of the board
are elected at each AGM.
