The Cambrian Mountaineer
Our second outing to support The Railway Children
charity saw D444 venture into Central Wales and out to the coast at
Aberywsyth on 9th May 2009. Unfortunately a coolant control fault lead to
an unscheduled stop at Leamington Spa, but with more water on board D444
made it to Shrewsbury, where a class 97 took command for the trip into
Wales.
Exeter made it back over Talerddig to Shrewsbury only to
be diverted to Crewe from where class 37676 bought the train back to
Bristol.
