50035 Ark Royal

As handed over at Old Oak Common Depot, Ark Royal was cosmetically tidy thanks to the dedicated work of a handful of volunteers. Unfortunately most of her problems were internal and it would be a long term job to get her fully operational.

35 and 44 outside St. Leonards
'35 although the first class 50 to be preserved has been one of the slowest to get back into a operational state. Here she is seen with 50044 at the March 1994 AGM outside the shed at St. Leonards.

The clag from the fifties started from cold inside the shed could fill it to the point of sub one meter visibility. Here 35 starts the process.
